Two Rum Punches For Your Holiday Party

As I mentioned in the last post, Nic and I had our annual holiday party on Friday night and it was great! We really wanted to avoid spending tons of money on supplies but we knew we would have somewhere between 30-45 people coming by so we decided to focus on making two big batches of tasty punch - one warm and one cold. Both were easy and yummy so here are the recipes to make for yourself!

The first recipe is for a cold fruity punch that Nick found from Bobby Flay on Food
We followed his recipe exactly and it was great - medium strong and a little sweet but had good flavor and very refreshing with lots of ice.

Bobby Flay's Rum Punch from Food
Below makes about 10-12 cups. We made about 5x this amount :)

1 cup fresh lime juice
2 cups grenadine syrup
2 cups Jamaican white rum
1 cup light rum
2 cups fresh pineapple juice
2 cups fresh orange juice
Orange slices, for garnish

Mix all ingredients together in a pitcher or punch bowl. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving. Garnish with orange or pineapple slices.

The other punch was an extremely simple warm spiced cider with rum that we put in the slow cooker for easy serving. You could also make this in a big pot.

Super Simple Warm Cider Rum Punch - Our own easy recipe :)

Ingredients for 1 batch:
8 cups Spiced Apple Cider or Pear Cider
1 cup Spiced Dark Rum (we used Sailor Jerry's)

-Pour about 8 cups of the Cider into a big pan or slow cooker and warm up on low heat. Add the rum and mix well. Serve warm.
