The Magic Bullet Blender - A Review and Some Recipes

Aside from my Thai Bo DVDs and our beloved Soda Stream I've managed to avoid made-for-TV products but I do occasionally get sucked into the black hole that is Bed Bath and Beyond... it is an EASY place to get sucked in and it's only a block away.  The other day Nic and I were at our local BB+B to pick up some Keurig coffee when we saw this beauty:

The Magic Bullet Blender!  For $50 this guy has been an AMAZING investment.  It makes my morning healthy pancake in seconds and it is SO much easier to clean than my Cuisinart.  I'll still use the Cuisinart for bigger things, chopping or slicing but this guy is great for smaller batches or quick things.  Here are a few ways I've used this thing so far...

Magic Bullet Recipes

Easy Healthy Pancake for one
-1/2 cup rolled oats
-1 egg white
-1/3 banana (use the rest as a topping!)
-1 spoonful fat free greek yogurt
-1/4 cup fat free milk (I like unsweetened vanilla almond)

-Put the above things in the magic bullet little cup and blend for like 20 seconds.
-Put a non-stick frying pan over medium high heat and spray with Pam. Pour the mix into the pan like a pancake and cook for a few minutes before flipping and cooking on the other side.
-Saute the leftover banana on the side of the pan and serve on top of your pancake.

Healthy Cinnamon Dip --- serve with an apple or pancakes or a waffle
-1/2 cup fat free cottage cheese
-2 tsps cinnamon
-1 packet splenda

-Put above things in the magic bullet cup and blend until smooth. Serve with a sliced apple!

Frozen Greyhound --- This was delicious. It's definitely my new favorite summer drink!
-1 grapefruit, peeled and cut into sections (cut out the middle where the seeds are.)
-2/3 cup ice
-2 ounces vodka

-Put above things in the magic bullet cup and blend for about 20 seconds until it makes a whirring sound instead of a chopping sound. Drink and enjoy!

P.S. Apparently the "Magic Bullet" is the brand name of another famous electrical appliance used largely by women so you might want to quickly add the word blender as soon as you tell all your co-workers about your awesome new purchase. Oops. Thanks for the update guys.
