Make a Really Tasty Turkey Burger

The past month or two my creative juices in the kitchen haven't really been flowing. I've fallen into this easy and comfortable place of having enough quick and tasty go-to dinners that the hubs and I really like that I've grown a little complacent and haven't been coming up with many new recipes to share with you all.  Plus the weather in San Francisco has been awesome and who wants to spend their time cooking on a sunny day? We've been re-making a lot of favorites including turkey burgers at least once a week. I was trying to motivate myself to try something new tonight but why? Instead I realized that I've never shared Nic's fool proof recipe for truly flavorful turkey burgers. They require a little more seasoning than you might have thought and they taste good every time.

A Well Seasoned Turkey Burger

Ingredients: (Seasonings are my best guess since we eyeball it every time!)
8-10 oz lean (I like 93% lean)ground turkey (enough for 2 large burgers)
1/2 tsp salt, 1/3 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
1 tablespoon soy sauce

-Put meat in a bowl and pour in all the spices. Mix well with your hands and form into two balls.
-Flatten balls into patties and be sure to indent the middle a little with your thumbs since this always takes longest to cook through.
-Put a pan over medium high heat and spray with Pam. Cook on one side for about 10 minutes and then flip, cook about 6 minutes or until it is done in the middle.
-Serve alone or with a slice of swiss and a little avocado like I did tonight!
