A little Bridesmaid Dress Inspiration

Bridesmaid Dresses at our 2010 Wedding

2012 was the summer of weddings. Between Nic and I we had 5, all of which were across the country and beautiful in their own ways.  While I complain about plane tickets, jet lag and hangovers there's nothing like a wedding,  I love them.  Dressing up, eating cake, drinking champagne, dancing and celebrating two people in love with friends and family is the best thing I could think of doing on a Saturday night.   I also obviously love every place card, floral arrangement and detail that people put into these events.

One of my favorite things to admire at weddings are the bridesmaid dresses. There are so many choices and ways of putting them together that the possibilities are endless.  This summer had some great ones --- easy, cute and versatile.  I didn't manage to snag pics of all of my faves but here are three good sets...

PRETTY and FEMININE..
I love love loved my friend's green short Amsale dresses in an array of different tops. I think they are totally re-wearable. Here are two of the ladies in green...

COMFY and CASUAL...
These beachy cotton Victoria's Secret maxis brought in a perfect pop of blue for a casual outdoor wedding.  One bridesmaid told me,"The hardest part about this wedding dresss was that I couldn't wear it all Summer!"

SWEET and GIRLY
These bright and short pink Jenny Yoo strapless dresses were sweet, girly and totally popped in all the pictures.

I also LOVE seeing weddings with a mix of colors or prints amongst the bridesmaids but I know that can be tricky to plan out. Here are a couple of good examples from wedding blogs...

PICK a PALETTE
From this post on a Southern Wedding Blog via Jessica Monnich Photography a bride did an array of muted pastels in different shapes. Looks amazing!

PICK a COLOR
I love these shades of pink from Pinterest...

PICK a PRINT
Mixing prints could be complicated but I think if everyone just picks a 2-3 color print off of white like these bridesmaids it looks great!
