Last weekend was epic. I flew an hour and 20 minutes to Salt Lake city for 3 days of fun fun fun in Park City with 14 girlfriends for our friend's bachelorette party. I've been to Salt Lake many times to ski at Snowbird but this was my first time to Park City and it was the perfect location for a fun weekend with big a group! If you ever need to plan a family reunion, bachelor or bachelorette party and have people who like to ski I would highly recommend hitting up Park City! Here are my favorite places and things we hit up so you can plan your trip...
Where to Stay:
Rent a house or condo: While I don't think you can beat Snowbird for straight up skiing, Park City is definitely the place to go with a big group or party because the town is cute, fun and right at the base of the ski mountains so if the snow is not great, you have non-skiers in the group or want good apres-ski options it is all right there! My friend's sisters found this SICK house to rent for our group of 15 and it was perfect. There was room for all of us, it was clean, comfortable and ridiculously awesome. We were able to walk from the house down two sets of stairs to the adorable town and just a few blocks to the lift of Park City Mountain resort.
Park City Mountain Resort: Conditions were warm and a bit slushy but we had two fun days of skiing at Park City Mountain Resort which was just a couple blocks walk from our rental house. The resort is big and easy to navigate and our whole group of 15 got up to shred the nar on Friday with 12 of us up there on Saturday!
Bahnof Sports: We rented skis, poles, helmets and boots here. This shop was halfway between the the house and the ski lift so it was a perfect stop on our way to the slopes. Prices were very reasonable and they gave us a 20% off discount for putting in our reservations online 3 days in advance.
Apres Ski Drinking and Eating:
No Name Saloon: Someone in town recommended this bar to us and we liked it so much we went twice! They have yummy burgers and bar food, lots of space and a great upstairs outdoor porch with heatlamps. We ate a late lunch and had some beers here after skiing on Friday and then came at night to find a big fun ski crowd hanging out there Saturday Night. This was a great place to hang out apres ski.
High West Distillery and Saloon: This place was great. It's like a more upscale design-y saloon that makes it's own whiskey and has delicious and fancier bar food. We came here after skiing saturday and ate AMAZING gruyere grilled cheeses with tomato soup and got a mix of beers and house made cocktails. This was a bit pricey compared to other Utah establishments but nothing crazy and the atmosphere was uber cool. I meant to come back here before heading to airport to buy Nic a bottle of their homemade whiskey butttttt I forgot :( How cool is their wall of mason jar lamps?
Chef Otto: On Saturday night my friend's sisters arranged for a private chef, Chef Otto, to come to our rental house and make us a delicious mediterranean feast. We were a group of 15 so getting a dinner reservation out with drinks would have been ridiculously expensive and difficult so it was absolutely perfect and his food was DELICIOUS. He set up shop in the house's kitchen, had everything including little appetizers all prepared quickly and cleaned up everything before he left. It was great! Click here for his website.
So, what do you say? Are you ready to plan your next group getaway to Park City?
